Industry experts discuss adoption of BIM, deliver BIM Handbook

On March 13, 2008, the Georgia Tech College of Architecture. will host, Adopting Building Information Modeling and Integrated Practice, an exciting symposium sponsored by Reed Construction Data that will focus on the changing landscape of the construction industry as the AEC community rapidly embraces building information modeling (BIM).

Several BIM and industry experts will be on-hand to explore the key issues surrounding this progressing technology and offer insight into the future of BIM and its impact on architects, engineers, fabricators, owners and contractors.

The symposium will also serve as an introduction and celebration for a new publication titled BIM Handbook: A Guide to Building Information Modeling for Owners, Managers, Designers, Engineers and Contractors, which was written by the speakers of the conference including Chuck Eastman, Paul Teicholz, Rafael Sacks and Kathleen Liston, and author of the foreword, Jerry Laiserin.

A reception and book signing will immediately follow the conference and BIM Handbook will be available for purchase at the symposium from the Georgia Tech Barnes & Noble Bookstore on the day of the event.

AIA Credits and Certified Professional Home Builder Education Credits will be available to attendees.
