How to Submit a Bid
Featured in:
This question is one that is frequently asked. The answer is that there is no one simple answer. In fact, entire books have been written about the subject. This is because there are so many possible variables that can affect how a bid is prepared and submitted. For example, what is the project for which you want to submit a bid? Is it private or public? If public, is the project at the local, state or federal level? Will green building or historic preservation be required? What is the project delivery method and basis for payment? What will be your company’s role in the project? General contractor? Sub-contractor?
Because the topic requires a much more in-depth response than one brief Q&A can provide, over the next few months we will post a regular series of Ask the Expert articles to address this subject. In the meantime, you can find books, training, and a variety of other resources related to this topic from RSMeans.
