Question:

Can BIM and Revit® work together?
Patrick Kilmartin, AECOM

Answer:

Revit is one vendor’s (Autodesk’s) product that falls under the BIM umbrella name. BIM (Building Information Modeling) is one of the accepted names for defining the concept of a 3D model populated with objects and assemblies that have data attached and associated. Revit is one of the software applications that fall under the BIM umbrella. There are other vendors that create software under this high level definition.
