Question:

In the early days of CAD we could charge “machine time” to help cover costs but it didn't last long. With BIM, owners have immediately insisted that BIM is just part of basic services. Owners don't seem to think they should pay A/E more fee and it’s a tough sell. Any sales wisdom?
Harry McAllister, M2 Design Services Ltd

Answer:

Mark Mergenschroer, BIM Development Coordinator, TME, Inc.: You are right, it is a tough sell. Right now it is a basic service for us. I think once we all get a better understanding and owners see the benefit of a BIM model that will change.
