What are the projected 21% savings in BIM projects based on?
Sandra Daigler, Dormitory Authority of the State of New York
Dennis Neeley, AIA, Product Director, Reed Construction Data: Contractors using BIM for construction realize savings with construction efficiencies, and decreased conflicts and are reporting savings in the 10% range. Our experience in making thousands of quantity take offs is that automatically generating quantities and then automatically generating costs will reduce total construction costs in the 10-15% range.
Most people find it hard to believe that 10-15% of the cost of construction is involved in quantity take off and costing, but it is.
