Question:

What type of vent pipe is required for a wood burning stove? My home is in Pontiac and I own a one-story ranch with a loft. The vent pipe will be going through the roof.
Shannon McCallister

Answer:

That question can best be answered by your local building department or official, as there may be amendments to building codes that apply to your particular jurisdiction. The Building and Safety Department of Pontiac, Michigan can be reached at 248-758-2800, or you can access their website.

Reed Construction Data provides building code information for Michigan and several of its jurisdictions here. We do not yet have codes and contact information listed for Pontiac, have added it to a list of jurisdictions to be included in our database.
