Established in 1953, Toronto-based Protectolite™ Inc. has been a leader in the custom composites market for over 50 years, specializing in the manufacture of solid 0.79 - 152 mm thick (1/32" to - 6.00") homogeneous one-piece mouldings of electrical and corrosion grade sheet. Protectolite is made by combining reinforcing materials such as fiberglass, carbon and aramid with polyester, epoxy and phenolic resins to manufacture protective and light composites. These composites are used to machine a variety of parts, including filter press plates, custom shaped electrical insulators, spacers, bus supports and other insulating parts for large electrical equipment for the electrical, mining and smelting industries.
