HMC was founded in 1940 by Jay Dewey Harnish in Ontario, California. In 1960, Jack Causey and Mel Morgan joined Harnish to form Harnish, Morgan, and Causey. Jay Harnish retired in 1978, at which time the firm became known as HMC Architects. Today, the firm is one of the largest planning and design firms headquartered in California, with 10 offices located throughout California and Nevada.
