3M™ Ultraflex Window System

SmartBuilding Index Featured Product Overview
CSI Classification:
Safety Films (08 87 16)

Product Description

3M™ Safety and Security Window Films are made to shield people and possessions from the unexpected. 3M has vigorously tested their window films to make sure they withstand the most extreme events and conditions, including windstorms, bomb blasts, and flying objects. Tough and durable, the films exceed industry standards for impact and tear resistance.

Product Description, Applications

SAFETY SERIES
3M Safety and Security Films are manufactured as a clear, single-layer polyester film coated with a unique, thicker adhesive that helps hold broken glass together. Also abrasion resistant, the films are offered in thickness ranges from 4 mil to 14 mil.

3M ULTRAFLEX WINDOW SYSTEM
Developed to be the most durable system in extreme conditions, the Ultraflex system devrives its strength from the elasticity of 3M Ultra Safety and Security Window Film combined with the Dow Corning 995 Silicone Structural Adhesive System. This creates a more flexible membrane to capture and absorb impact energy. The Ultraflex system allows the frame to bend and twist under various impact stresses, reducing the danger of shattered windows and flying glass.

Additional benefits include reduced energy costs from reflected heat and reduced glare when a tint is applied to the system.
