Product Description, Applications
Knauf’s product line is suitable for a wide variety of commercial specifications. It includes high density and standard batts, blankets, rolls and rigid board insulation, available faced or unfaced. Knauf insulation products offer high energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness in both wood and steel stud construction.

Knauf insulation is ideal for new construction or retrofit applications, including exterior and partition walls, floors and ceilings.

  • Superior sound control properties reduce sound transmission between walls, ceilings and floors
  • Unitized packaging reduces delivery costs and storage space
  • Available unfaced or with kraft, foil or FSK-foil facing
  • Facing products resist tears; markings in 1' (304.8 mm) increments allow for easier field fabrication
  • Extra wide stapling flange allows for faster installation
  • Available in a variety of widths, including 15", 16", 19", 23", 24", 48", 60" and 72" (381, 406, 483, 584, 610, 1219, 1524 and 1829 mm)

  • Fire resistance (Unfaced and FSK) – Meets Class A flame requirements
  • Flamespread (Unfaced and FSK) – ASTM E84, 25 or less; smoke developed, 50 or less
  • Permeance – 1.0 or less; faced products
  • R-value, blanket insulation – ASTM C518; ranges from 11 ft² × h × °F/Btu (2 m² × K/W) at 3.5" (89 mm) thickness to 38 ft² × h × °F/Btu (7 m² × K/W) in 12" (305 mm) thickness
  • R-value, insulation board – ASTM C518; R-values of 4.3 ft² × h × °F/Btu (0.76 m² × K/W) at 1" (25.4 mm) to 17.4 ft² × h × °F/Btu (3 m² × K/W) at 4" (102 mm)
