Attractive yet functional, the Kolbe Ultra Series is ideal for new residential and commercial construction. For renovation projects, Kolbe now offers the Ultra Pocket Double Hung Window, which allows the existing trim to remain undisturbed.

Pine is the standard wood used in Ultra Series windows, but other wood species are optional, including Alder, Fir, Oak, Cherry, Maple, Walnut and Mahogany. Exterior wood components are treated with an insecticide and fungicide that meets preservative and water repellency requirements of WDMA I.S.4-2000.

Ultra Series windows feature H°K dual-insulating glass units with LoE²-270 coating, argon gas, and Thermo-Edge spacers on most units as standard. An optional LoE³-366 coating is available for extra energy efficiency, and an LoE²-240 coating is available for solar control in southern areas.

A durable .050" thick cladding of 6063 extruded aluminum alloy is press-fit onto the exterior wood frames and sash of most Ultra Series windows and doors. The aluminum cladding is finished with a fluoropolymer coating, which carries up to a 30-year warranty. Custom anodized metallic finishes are also available.

Three grille types are available for Ultra Series products:

• Performance Divided Lites - Simultates the historic style of true divided lites. Various bar widths and profiles available with colors to match exterior finish
• Grilles-in-the-Airspace - Created by sealing aluminum bars between the interior and exterior panes of dual-insulating glass units. Easy to clean and energy efficient, with several colors and wood-look tones available
• Interior Removable Wood Grilles - Easy to remove for cleaning with energy efficient insulating glass units
