The multifunction capabilities of the EPIC Security Ceiling System are ideal for day rooms, cells, balconies, showers, corridors, kitchens, modular housing units and visitation areas in correctional facilities. EPIC Security Ceiling Systems have been installed in locations all across the country, including local, state and federal prisons.

Properties, Performance
The EPIC Security Ceiling System can provide a noise reduction coefficient (NRC) of 0.95, one of the highest ratings achievable for reducing sound reflection in interior spaces. Greater importance is placed on reducing interior noise levels within correctional facilities since most facilities are constructed using concrete floors and walls that have a high level of sound reverberation. The result is perceived noise levels that are amplified by the reflection of sound off hard concrete surfaces. Incorporating EPIC Security Ceiling Panels into a correctional design helps to minimize reflected sound.

Construction, Materials, Finishes
A wide selection of panel gauges (from 20 - 14 gauge) provides economies for minimum to maximum security applications. Security Ceiling Panel depths range from 1 1/2" - 7 1/2" (38 - 191 mm), allowing the panels to span from 6' - 30' (1.8 - 9.1 m) while also providing the structural roof system. When specified as a composite floor system, the panel acts as a floor in the upper cell and as an acoustical ceiling in the lower cell. Spans range from 6' - 25' (1.8 - 7.6 m) with UL fire ratings up to 3 hours.

EPIC Metals’ Acoustical Security Ceiling Systems are designed to accept light fixtures, air inlets and outlets, speakers, monitoring and detection devices and other ceiling mounted accessories. Panels are finished with a durable, factory applied paint coating.
