SLP-TRK® Brand Slotted Top Track

Product Description, Applications
Sliptrack (trademarked SLP-TRK®) is a slotted steel (deflection) top track that absorbs building movement in multistory buildings. With its single track design, SLP-TRK allows positive attachment of the head-of-wall tracks to the wall studs while still absorbing building movement.
Architects specify SLP-TRK because it takes the guesswork out of compliance issues for complicated fire-rated head-of-wall designs. SLP-TRK’s 1-piece design means it can be installed in lighter gauges than double track systems while delivering greater load resistance.

Sliptrack Systems provides UL approved fire-rated designs and solutions to address a wide range of field applications. The SLP-TRK product has been tested with a variety of leading firestop products, and it has outperformed the requirements of stringent fire and hose stream testing, per ASTM E119 and ASTM E814. It meets or exceeds the latest seismic cycling standards found in UL 2079 and ASTM E1966.

The SLP-TRK product can be used for both interior and exterior wall systems. US Patent 5,127,760 is owned by Brady Construction Innovations. Dietrich Metal Framing is the exclusive licensee of SLP-TRK Brand Slotted Top Tracks.

Features, Advantages

  • UL approved, SLP-TRK combines easily into a wide variety of fire-rated head-of-wall systems, and it is listed with many of the preferred head-of-wall firestop products
  • SLP-TRK provides multiple fastening points enabling the studs to be positively attached throughout the installation, ensuring accurate installation and minimizing costly callbacks and rework
  • SLP-TRK increases labor efficiency and simplifies code compliance and inspections
  • SLP-TRK installations do not require any additional strapping, bridging, clips or stand-off washers that complicate the installation and inspection
  • Unlike other systems, SLP-TRK installs without requiring extra accessories to hold the studs in place
  • Brady’s technical staff offers superior on the job (field) support
  • Nationally distributed by Dietrich Metal Framing

ProX Header®

Product Description, Applications
ProX Header® is a light gauge steel header that provides horizontal and vertical load support. This pre-engineered metal framing component is designed as a 1- or 2-piece steel header that can be used in lieu of 4- or 5- piece built-up (stud and track) headers in both interior and exterior applications, including door and window openings. It also works at any framed opening in the wall, such as HVAC openings and other wall penetrations.

The ProX Header is made of 20, 18, 16 and 14 gauge (33, 43, 54 and 68 mil) galvanized steel complying with industry standard ASTM performance criteria for metal stud framing. The members fasten together with No. 8 (interior) or No. 10 (exterior) sheet metal screws (SMS). ProX Clips are internal and connect horizontal to vertical members, which leaves a smooth framing substrate for the drywall and finishing trades.

Features, Advantages

  • The ProX Header shape is engineered to deliver superior strength with fewer pieces
  • Easy, consistent installation - No welding required
  • Superior strength at connection points - Internal ProX Clip design
  • Improved load values in lighter gauge materials
  • Straight cuts that deliver consistent and accurate fitting components
  • Reduces field cutting, welding and trimming
  • Consistent door and window header design for both interior and exterior metal framed openings
  • ProX Header offers a flush framing substrate that provides a better quality drywall finish
  • Easily insulates during the “work in progress”
  • Pre-engineered with submittal data sheets
  • Easy unchanging inspection
