EllisDon and Reed Construction Data Launch New Social Media Masterclass Series

New periodical encourages adoption of social media in the construction industry.

Mississauga, May 28, 2012 - EllisDon, Canada’s leading general contractor and Reed Construction Data, the publisher of Daily Commercial News and Journal of Commerce, have joined forces to educate readers about the ins and outs of social media, specifically in the construction industry. Entitled “Social Media Masterclass”, EllisDon’s Web and Social Media Manager Christine Zakrajsek authors the column, that appears weekly in both of Reed Construction Data’s publications (available in digital, print and online formats).

“I’m excited about the opportunity to collaborate with Reed Construction Data to educate my peers on how to make social media happen in the construction industry,” said Ms. Zakrajsek. “At EllisDon, we have one of the largest Twitter followings in the Canadian construction industry, we actively support online community dialogue and we are always on the lookout for new ways to engage others within construction. I am hoping this series will help people get on board and enjoy all the benefits that happen when communities connect online.”

“Reed Construction Data saw EllisDon and specifically Christine Zakrajsek as a leader in social media,” said Geoff Smith, President and CEO of EllisDon. “By engaging with the online community, it only makes the construction industry stronger which in turn, makes us stronger.”

“As the leading information provider to the Canadian construction industry, we are excited to be able to partner with EllisDon on this venture,” commented Mark Casaletto, VP and GM of Reed Construction Data Canada. “Social media and our digital strategy is a priority for our own business needs and EllisDon is a leader in pushing the social media innovation agenda in our space, so this venture made perfect sense. We see our role, as the voice of the Canadian construction industry, as one which provides relevant content, especially when it comes to innovative trends that are impacting and changing the way we communicate and interact with each other. To have the opportunity to serve the industry by publishing social media best practices is something we are eager to be a part of.”

The “Social Media Masterclass” series will be available, weekly in Daily Commercial News (www.dailycommercialnews.com) and Journal of Commerce (www.journalofcommerce.com) starting May 16, 2012.

High Performance Coatings
Coatings are substances that when applied to various substrates improve the functionality and or aesthetics of the substrate. High performance coatings are just that — they improve the performance of the substrate. Some of the various physical characteristics that they improve include chemical resistance, abrasion or heat resistance, resistance to water penetration and corrosion resistance.
