Reed Construction Data Inc (RCD) and the Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC) have announced the signing of a strategic alliance agreement that will result in the two organizations combining resources to support British Columbia’s Architectural professionals, and to promote the region’s busy design and construction market.
The agreement includes a number of provisions designed to foster growth and development of the Architectural profession in British Columbia. RCD has agreed to promote AIBC programs and to assist in efforts to advance the profession within the province. Initiatives include RCD sponsorship of AIBC’s Annual General Meeting. AIBC members will also benefit from access to industry-oriented content gathered through RCD relationships, and will be eligible for preferred advertising rates in both online and print media.
“Our base of operations in British Columbia extends back almost 100 years,†notes Mark Casaletto, Reed Construction Data’s Managing Director. “Our success, as evidenced by our longevity and growth, is largely attributable to the cooperation we’ve traditionally enjoyed between B.C.‘s Architectural and Design communities and our editorial and research staff. This is an important partnership for RCD, not only because it brings us closer to the design community, but because it allows us to give something back to the profession. And with the imminent launch of Buildcore.com, this agreement ensures we’ll benefit from close ties to our primary users. As we expend and further enhance our resources, we are committed to fulfilling the needs of our regional and national customers. This partnership will allow us to achieve this goal.â€
“We view RCD and Journal of Commerce as important sources of information for British Columbia’s design, building and construction industry,†adds Dorothy Barkley, Executive Director of the AIBC. “The Journal has an extensive history of addressing important issues and industry trends. Our members will always require access to reliable information about the unique challenges and opportunities facing BC’s design community and the AIBC encourages architects to use the best resources at their disposal.â€
