Providing customers with access to permit-level property data and sources within RCD’s trigger marketing solution, specEdge™
NORCROSS, GA (December 7, 2011) – Reed Construction Data (RCD), a leading provider of construction information, today announced a strategic alliance with BuildFax, creator of the first and only national database of historical residential and commercial building permit data. The new relationship will provide customers with greater insight into commercial, permit-level property data, enhancing RCD’s trigger marketing delivery solution, specEdge, to connect building product manufacturers (BPMs) and service providers with customers and projects to win more business and increase profits. The manufacturing community can now use intelligence from past and present nationwide permits to hone in on contractors’ specific requirements at the time they need products for a project.
“BuildFax’s data source is the perfect enhancement to specEdge, giving our customers access to variable construction records on millions of properties from cities and counties across the United States,” said Steve Ritchie, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, Reed Construction Data. “This development serves as the platform to get our customers’ messages in front of contractors who are active in their communities.”
BuildFax’s permit-level property data, combined with RCD’s specEdge marketing delivery solution and up-to-date construction projects database, will provide BPMs with a more sophisticated, targeted and effective marketing approach in order to enhance the probability that their products will be specified or purchased. The availability of permit property data will greatly improve the capability of professionals in the construction industry to expand their marketing reach and present product information to decision-makers at the right place, at the right time, throughout the construction process.
”Manufacturers ask us all the time how they can implement the intelligence from our nationwide permitting database,” said Holly Tachovsky, President of BuildFax. “Now I can tell them, imagine this, an HVAC manufacturer launches a new air conditioning product. They need to spend their marketing dollars wisely and get the new product in front of the right contractors. The upgraded contractor data in specEdge will allow them to market to the specific contractors who pulled building permits. This company now has the key to winning more bids, while spending less money, by reaching the exact people who need their product.”
For more information or to learn more about specEdge, visit:
http://www.reedconstructiondata.com/sem/specedge-social/. The newly enhanced contractor data in specEdge will be available in January 2012.

NORCROSS, GA (July 19, 2011) - Reed Construction Data (RCD), a leading North American provider of construction information, today announced the launch of specEdge (www.specEdge.com), a new trigger marketing program designed to help building product manufacturers, distributors, contractors and other service providers overcome challenges and measure their success.
specEdge is a simple, proven marketing program that utilizes RCD’s database of construction projects, plans and specifications to deliver valuable information to design and construction decision-makers at the precise stage of product selection. This program clearly distinguishes a building product manufacturer from its competitors, generating more specifications and greater sales revenue. In a world of “hope for the best”, specEdge allows customers to target their market with precision.
specEdge allows customers to:
Target their market: Multifaceted selection criterion allow customers to tailor their campaign parameters by target audience, vertical market, geography, size of project and more.
Time their campaign: Marketing materials have the most influence when they are presented precisely when they are needed. Customers can time their campaign to specific projects within the RCD expansive database of current construction projects as they move from one phase to the next.
Specify their delivery: Allows customers to match their content with the needs of diverse audiences within the construction industry, providing the most relevant information in the desired format. One or more methods can be used to ensure that customers’ products are top-of-mind for specifications or purchases.
