Robert M. Leicht , PhD BIM Manager, DPR Construction Robert has been working with DPR for the past two years and is currently leading the East Coast virtual building efforts. He has been involved in expansion and development of the range and depth of virtual building implementation DPR has been employing, along with heading their efforts in BIM Implementation Planning and working with the GSA. Robert received his PhD in Architectural Engineering from Penn State, focusing on planning collaborative tasks when using models. He has been involved in implementing BIM in the construction industry since 2003 and has published more than a dozen papers on the use of virtual building tools, BIM, and collaboration. Robert has been involved in developing and providing training for BIM tools since 2005. |

Scott Simpson, FAIA, LEED AP Senior Director of Kling-Stubbins Scott Simpson is an award-winning architect and Senior Director of KlingStubbins, a global design firm. He is a Richard Upjohn Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, a Senior Fellow and board member of the Design Futures Council, a board member of the Rice Building Institute, and an Overseer of the Boston Childrens Museum. Mr. Simpson has lectured at the Harvard, Yale, Rice, and University of Wisconsin schools of architecture, and has presented at numerous national conferences and symposia, including 15 AIA national conventions. He has published more than 115 articles on innovation in the design professions and has co-authored two books, How Firms Succeed and The Next Architect—a New Twist on the Future of Design. His projects have won Lab of the Year honors as well as two Business Week/Architectural Record design awards. |

Markku Allison Resource Architect, AIA In his position as Resource Architect on the Strategy and Business Development team – and as an experienced, licensed architect – Markku serves as an in-house content expert on issues of both current and future concern to architects and the profession. He staffs the Board’s Integrated Practice Discussion Group, dealing with the important and complex issues of building information modeling, interoperability, project delivery, risk management, energy efficiency / emissions reduction, collaborative delivery models and the like. Markku also serves on special project teams and task forces, utilizing practice knowledge to enhance organizational leadership on various initiatives from an architect’s perspective. In 2007, Markku played a leadership role in the creation of two major AIA resources: Integrated Project Delivery: A Guide and the 50to50. |
