The mantra of Go Green

Posted by pallavi

Over the years, the movement towards sustainable design or green building has been intensified dramatically. The rise in the environmental concerns has given a new dimension in the making of building hardwares, now the environmental issues has became a global menace. The mantra of Go Green has replaced the existing toxic and hazardous hardware materials with recycled materials. When you choose something Eco friendly, you get a double benefit; that is you're moving towards sustainability, which means it's better for everyone and the planet. The eco-friendly steps have helped the world to be greener to a great extent. What do you think on this and do you think we would be able to adopt these green measures and would be able to sustain in the market. Does the manufacturer who manufcatures green products would have edge on others in coming times?

Like anything, this paradigm shift will have to be driven by the almighty dollar.  As long as it financially viable to not go green, builders and building owners will continue in their old ways.  Take the US automakers’ moronic reluctance to get into the hybrid/electric car market as an example of what is happening to green building.

Sure, there are some progressive contractors and building owners out there who are taking matters into their own hands, but until the government assigns meaningful subsidies and incentives for going green, the construction world at large will continue to drag its feet.
