SFCA

Posted by Zdenko Novkovic

J. Christ! I will save the frustration of not understanding why I need to create a new account with the forum if we already are signed up for COSTWorks and the inability to copy/paste into this forum???? Anyway.. Concrete Formwork: FORMS IN PLACE, SLAB ON GRADE - Curb forms, wood, 6" to 12" high, on grade, 1 use SFCA is measured how? Contact area of wood or surface conctact area of slab?

I made the assumption that the SCFA was indicative of the amount of concrete form boarder with the concrete pad and not the SF of the pad.

If anyone gets an answer please let me know for future reference.

SCFA is the surface area of the formwork that comes into contact with the wet concrete. In this case of an edge form for a slab-on-grade, this would be the surface area of the inside of the edge form that will come into contact with the wet slab concrete after that concrete has been placed, leveled, consolidated and floated.

Thanks Kerry and glad that my assumption was good!
