BIM quality management is driven by redefinition of work process, training of people and implementation of new technology. The biggest challenge facing the industry is management of data both internnaly and externally. Many “best practices” are being adopted from other industries. The basic challenge is due to the fragmentation of the AEC industry has to do with “platform”. As no one stakeholder can afford to deploy a platform (like Boeing has for PLM for their stakeholders) there will be a need for a common platform that incorporates rules that manage the quality process.
