Searching for saved estimates

Searching for saved estimates You can use the Search menu to locate your saved estimates using values such as estimate ID, name, postal code, and other estimate parameters.

Tip: Most of the parameters in the Search menu are values you set up in the Completing the estimate basics stage of creating an estimate.

 

To search for your saved estimates,

From the Home tab, click Search:

Result: The Estimate Search By menu is displayed:

Complete as many as the fields as you need to search for estimates, using the following table as a guide.

Field
Description
Estimate Type
The type of the estimate, determined by how the estimate is calculated:

  • Unit Cost
  • Assembly
  • Square Foot
  • Estimate ID
    The system-generated ID for the estimate.
    Estimate Name
    The name for the estimate. You can narrow your search using the following radio button selections:

  • Exact - the name entered is the exact name of the estimate.

  • Begins With - the name entered is the beginning of the estimate name.
  • Client Name
    The name of the client for the estimate.
    Folder Location
    The folder in where the estimate is located. You can search All for all folders, or search the default system folders: PersonalShared ArchivedRecycle
    Last Update Finds estimates based on the last calendar day an estimate is updated. Click in the Last Update and to boxes to open a popup calendar to select the search date range.
    Value Finds estimates based on the value of an estimate. Enter a numeric value, making sure you add two decimal places (but no dollar ($) sign:

    Value - Enter the lowest estimate value

    to - Enter the highest estimate value

    Postal Code Enter a valid U.S. or Canadian postal code for the estimate. You can enter a five digit numeric postal code or a six digit alphanumeric postal code.

    Once you have entered the search parameters you want to use, choose from the following to continue.

    If you want to...
    Then click...
    Result
    run the search Search. The search runs and your results are displayed.
    reset the search menu Reset. All fields in the menu clear.
    cancel the search and return to the Home tab Cancel. The Home tab is displayed.
