Working with saved searches
You can save any of your SmartProject News project searches for future use. You can save up to five different searches, including Map-based, and you can modify any of your saved searches to fit your needs.
For automated searching, the scheduled e-mail notification feature runs your saved searches at set intervals, sending you a summary e-mail of updated and new projects that match your search criteria. For more information, see Setting scheduled e-mail notifications.

Saving a search
To save a search,

From the Search Projects page, use the menu to set up and run a project search, including a map-based search.
Note: For more information about your options for searching for projects, see Searching for projects.

From the Project Search Results window, click Save This Search on the upper-right side of the window.
Result: The Save This Search dialogue box is displayed, as shown in the following example:

Type the name for the search in the Name for this search box. |

The scheduled e-mail notification feature runs your saved searches at set intervals, delivering summary e-mails of updated and new projects matching your search criteria to your inbox.

Click Save Search.
Note: If you have saved the maximum number of searches, you must delete one of your existing searches from the My Profile page. See Renaming and deleting a saved search for more information. |
Running a saved search
To run a saved search,

From the Search Projects page, locate the Run a Saved Search section. |

Select the search to run from the list of your saved projects:
Result: The search parameters load in the menu. For a map based search, click Run Saved Search from the Map-Based Search menu.
Note: You can make changes to the criteria of a saved search and either save or discard the changes. For more information, see Modifying a saved search. |

Click the Search button in the My Saved Searches section.
Result: The search runs and the results are displayed in the Project Search Results window.

Modifying a saved search
You can modify any of your saved searches with different search criteria.
Note:
The changes you make to a saved search overwrite the original parameters to the search.
To modify a saved search,

From the Search Projects page, in the section for Run a Saved Search, click to select the saved search that you want to modify.
Result: The parameters for the search load in the window. |

Make your changes to the parameters of the search. |

Click Search to run the search.
Result: The results are displayed in the Project Search Results window. |

Click Save this Search.
Result: The Save this Search menu is displayed showing the name of the search in the box |

Click Save Search.
Result: Your search is saved with the new parameters. |
Renaming and deleting a saved search
To rename and delete a saved search,

Click the My Profile tab.
Note: If you are viewing either the Home or the Projects tab
- from the Run a Saved Search menu, click Edit / Delete Saved Searches.

From the My Profile window, locate the section for My Saved Searches:
Note: Clicking on the search name displays a pop-up window of the search details.

Choose from the following to continue.
If you want to... |

rename the search |
- locate the search you are renaming
in the list
- click Rename
- in the menu, type the new name for the search
- click Save.
Result: The search is saved with the new name.

delete the search |
- locate the search you are renaming in the list
- click Delete
Result: You are asked to verify your choice.
- click OK to delete the search.
Result: The search is deleted and removed from the list. |
