Abstract:
Construction spending fell 0.6% in November from October but was at the originally estimated October level before initial estimates for both September and October were revised higher. The nearly $14 billion 9seasonally adjusted annual rate) fall in single family housing, both new and remodeling, was partially offset by $4 billion increases in construction spending for both nonresidential buildings and for heavy/engineering projects. The reported decline in current dollar spending may be an increase in construction volume with construction materials prices falling 3.2% in November.
