RFI's can cause project delays, excessive Project Manager time to manage the process, lead to change orders and can drive project budgets and schedules out of control. Many believe that in the future BIM technology will reduce the number of RFI's on a project. While the technology addresses many of the challenges faced by the industry, the process and methodology in which it is implemented have not been taken into consideration.
