Preformed or roll-formed metal wall panels are used by owners, architects, engineers and designers to provide attributes required by the functional and aesthetic needs of the structure.

Available today are many different profiles, finishes and accessories that have made preformed or roll-formed metal panels a popular choice in today’s building community.

Preformed metal wall panels can be made of steel, aluminum, copper and other metals with steel being most common. Finishes are usually applied during the manufacturing process because this allows for an extremely high quality product.

Installation can be performed quickly and without specialized equipment. This allows the general contractor to weather tight the structure sooner. This also allows for other trades to perform their tasks earlier in the schedule when compared to other exterior wall systems. Savings in scheduled time will often result in overall savings in construction costs. According to the 2008 version of RSMeans Building Construction Cost Data, the cost to purchase and install metal wall panels is approximately $3.00 to $10.00 per square foot of wall area.

The life cycle cost of metal wall panels is also an advantage. With an expected life span of 20 to 30 years or more, fewer residing projects are required, saving on remodeling labor costs and quantities of materials in landfills. Longevity can be attributed to both the durable finish and the strength of the metal. Made of up to 25% recycled material and then completely recyclable at the end of their life span, metal wall panels are an environmentally responsible exterior wall choice.

The variety of profiles, textures, colors and trim options make metal wall panels a popular choice for not only industrial structures, but also for agricultural, commercial and even residential buildings. So many different combinations of color, shape and size are available that it makes the design possibilities endless.

With all these advantages, why not consider metal wall panels for your next construction project?
