Abstract:
The outlooks for the institutional and industrial construction markets in Canada are summarized in this report from CanaData, a product line of Reed Construction Data. The forecasts for both categories are in terms of the square footage of starts. The public sector may be holding back on major capital projects because it is surprised at how quickly its overall operating costs are rising. In the industrial sector, capacity utilization rates have sunk to their lowest levels in many years, sapping enthusiasm for expansions.
