Key housing market drivers improved again over the last month. Home affordability inched up to a usually high index value of 173.5 with lower home prices and credit costs offsetting rising unemployment. The confidence indexes for both homebuilders and consumers rose significantly although both remain in the depressed range, says Reed Construction Data chief economist Jim Haughey.
