Reed Elsevier (RUK and ENL), a world-leading publisher and information provider in the science and medical, legal, education and business-to-business sectors, today announced its 2009 Interim Results, which includes news that Reed Construction Data (RCD) is being retained in its entirety by Reed Elsevier amidst the divestment of the controlled circulation magazines of Reed Business Information U.S. (RBI US).

The strategy, portfolio and business model of Reed Construction Data, which includes its U.S. and Canadian divisions and RSMeans, closely aligns with Reed Elsevier’s core focus.

As an integral part of the U.S. information strategy for RBI, RCD will continue developing its core offerings, including its construction project lead services, construction cost data tools and resources, building information modelling (BIM) solutions, building product directory, market analytics and B2B marketing opportunities.

“RCD is entering an exciting phase and one which I am confident will bring us many opportunities,” said Iain Melville, CEO, Reed Construction Data.  “By focusing on our customers and pushing the boundaries of innovation, this organisation can continue to grow as a resource for the construction industry.”

RBI will also retain the Variety, Marketcast and BuyerZone divisions.
