On June 23, Reed Construction Data Canada (www.reedconstructiondata.com/can) will host “CanaData: A Mid-Year Economic Update,” a complimentary webinar delivering the most up-to-date forecast for the construction activity, in 2009 and beyond.

The webinar, which will be presented by Alex Carrick, Chief Economist, Reed Construction Data, will provide a comprehensive economic update that will help companies plan for the remainder of 2009.  Topics will include: Current economy in terms of employment, interest rates and the value of the Canadian dollar; Key drivers of the main sub-categories of construction (residential, non-residential building and engineering); Housing starts forecasts for Canada; Regional, square footage forecasts for ICI work; Investment forecasts, covering all the categories of construction, and more.

“We are in the midst of one of the most significant and unique economic slowdowns in generations,” states Mark Casaletto, Vice President and General Manager of Reed Construction Data Canada.  “The question, as we reach the mid-year point, is have we bottomed out and will we see recovery. During the webinar, Alex Carrick will put this into context and verify if we have, in fact turned the corner and are on the road to recovery.”

The webinar will be broadcast live starting at 2 p.m. (EDT).  This webinar will be complimentary for all participants; pre-registration is required. Questions from the audience will be accepted during the event, which will also be archived for later viewing.
