Publishing-Industry Expert Retires from ACP

John Weatherhead, group publisher of Reed Construction Data’s Associated Construction Publications (ACP) has announced his retirement today. For more than forty years Weatherhead has been a major force in the construction information and publishing marketplace.
“On behalf of the management team at Reed Construction Data and Reed Business Information, I wish to thank John Weatherhead for his extraordinary service to the business and the market,” said Iain Melville, CEO, Reed Construction Data. “We will all miss his experience, wisdom and tireless endeavor on behalf of ACP.”
Weatherhead will continue to work for ACP as an independent consultant through 2008 transitioning key ACP accounts, continuing to build association relationships and uncovering new custom publishing opportunities.
“I’m fortunate to have formed so many great relationships at Reed and within this industry,” said Weatherhead. “I’m looking forward to being a part of this organization’s future in my role as a consultant.”
Weatherhead joined the ACP team in 1966. He has held several positions within the group as news reporter, Western regional manager and executive vice president, as well as sales manager and director of customer publishing.
Bill Cariello, publisher of First Source, will replace Weatherhead as group publisher of ACP. Cariello has over twenty years of experience in publishing at Reed Business Information and other leading companies. He has been responsible for significant developments on First Source, a building product directory for the commercial construction industry, including driving its transition from a print to an Internet-based directory.
“Bill will be a great asset to ACP as he brings a wealth of experience and abilities,” said Melville. “His direction and leadership will help us continue to advance the growth of our publications.”
