Construction Information Provider’s Web Platform Delivers New Functionality and Resources
Reed Construction Data, a leading provider of construction information and BIM solutions, today announced the launch of SmartBuilding Index (SBI) (www.reedconstructiondata.com/smartbuildingindex), an integrated and search engine optimized Web directory that offers knowledge and resources for the entire architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) community.
SBI provides tools to find information pertaining to building and construction products and services in a simple and comprehensive format. Users can conduct in-depth research regarding specific products, data and manufacturers relevant to their projects. Specifically, visitors will find:
- Project Case Studies – Access to over 430,000 project reports from Reed’s archive of construction project leads. RCD community members can contribute or modify content related to each project through wikis.
- Product Overviews – Companies can align themselves with specific product types, and manufacturers can even post technical specifications, catalogs, BIM objects and case studies.
- Product Type Wikis – Pages are available for every product type represented by a MasterFormat 2004 Code. Pages include a wiki, a sponsored product spotlight, manufacturers of the product type and current news about the product type.
- Company Profiles – Allows companies to gain exposure for their products or services, offering free basic listings in which companies can provide a brief overview of their products or services, catalogs, case studies, white papers and product offerings.
- Geographic Pages – includes building codes, project case studies, news from the region and sample project leads.
