Project Description

Water Treatment,Sewage Treatment Consists of furnishing and installing the following approximate quantities: Contract No. 1 - 2009 WTP Expansion (Base Bid): Construction consisting of a new 6.8 mgd 150’ by 138’ Water Treatment Plant (WTP). Building expansion consists of cast in place concrete, precast concrete, and CMU; a 250,000 gallon clearwell; an 85,000 gallon backwash reclaim basin; two (2) aerators, an ion exchange treatment (MIEX) system, a solids contact softening basin, recarbonation basin and carbon dioxide pressurized solution feed system; five (5) dual bay gravity filters with each bay being 10’ by 18’ including underdrain blocks, media, backwash troughs, air piping, and appurtenances; general process piping ranging in size from 4 to 30 inch, valves, fittings, and appurtenances; on-site sodium hypochlorite generation system; five (5) hypochlorite feed pumps; eight (8) diaphragm chemical metering pumps, five (5) chemical storage tanks, mixers, and chemical feed appurtenances; lime silo, day bin, slaker, and lime appurtenances; seven (7) vertical turbine pumps, four (4) submersible pumps; general mechanical work including HVAC work, ductwork; drain, waste, and vent piping; and other mechanical equipment and appurtenances. Electrical systems generally consisting of providing electrical circuits and controls within the WTP expansion including lighting, power, instrumentation and controls, and associated conduit and wiring; and telemetry system control modifications at eight (8) remote sites. Sitework generally includes grading, seeding, installing 6 inch diameter D.I. sludge piping, 20 inch D.I. raw water pipe, 8 inch diameter sanitary sewer, and piping appurtenances; and installing an asphalt access road. The project also includes minor demolition and modifications of the existing WTP and miscellaneous appurtenances including valve replacement on filter process piping, chlorine feed system modifications, chemical feed piping, and replacement of three (3) existing pump motors
