Project Description
First phase of the Toronto-York Spadina subway extension and comprises the construction of a new subway running structure that will provide the first part of an additional link, through a previously constructed mainline connection to Wilson Yard. Work will also provide for a future third mainline track paralledl to the Wilson-to-Downsview main line for short turn and temporary line storage functions. The work will utilize cut & cover construction methods to accommodate placement of a reinforced concrete running box structure. The work includes: removal & disposal of hazardous materials, design placement and removal of an excavation support system, road diversion, interim site grading and temporary Bus Rapid Transit access, construction of underground reinforced concrete structure; tunnel dry standpipe system for new box structure, and various civil, electrical and mechanical work.
