Details:The Port Mann/Hwy #1 project includes widening of Hwy #1, twinning of the Port Mann Bridge, upgrading interchanges & improving HOV lanes & safety on the Hwy spanning 37 Km. This will encompass the following segments: McGill Street to Kensington Ave (ramp modifications, on-ramp & overpass upgrades, interchange reconstruction); Gaglardi Way to the Port Mann Bridge (interchange reconstruction, new overpass at King Edward St, on-ramp modifications); Port Mann Bridge to 176th Street (overpass reconstruction, interchange reconstruction); 192nd Street to 216th Street (construction of proposed partial interchanges). Pre-Design Concepts include: new HOV lanes, transit & commercial vehicle priority access to Hwy on-ramps, improvements to the cycling network, one new lane in each direction west of the existing Port Mann Bridge, two new lanes in each direction east of the existing bridge, future accommodation for Light Rail Transit (LRT), & a proposed toll on the Port Mann Bridge.
