More commonly known as window film or window tint, glazing surface film is transparent plastic film or metallic laminate that is applied to finished glass.

In use for solar control since the early 1960s, window film is easier to install, energy-efficient and therefore less costly than chemically altered specialty glass. Today it is available in compositions suitable for a variety of applications, including those for solar control, heat loss reduction, safety and security, and architectural design.
