Insulating Concrete Forming - 03 11 19
Insulating Concrete Formwork (ICF) is an energy-efficient cast-in-place concrete building system that was first patented in the 1960s and became widely available in North America in the 1980s. ICF consists of dry-stacked EPS insulation forms that are filled with concrete and reinforcing steel to create various structural wall profiles. The EPS forms are available as block, panel and plank configurations and are left in place as thermal and acoustical insulation.
ICF is a great way to form walls and foundations. There are over 60 brands available...

Tips on Estimating Insulating Concrete Forming Costs from RSMeans
The selection of the forms best suited for the job and the total square feet of forms required for efficient concrete forming and placing are key elements in estimating concrete construction. When estimating the number of forms and reuses for a job, remember to have enough forms on hand to keep the forming crew(s) busy while the previously poured concrete sets and starts to cure. Also study the plans and specifications to ensure that all special accessory requirements have been included in the cost estimate. |
