Georgia-Pacific Sponsors Wood Subflooring
Georgia-Pacific’s wood subflooring solutions provide sturdy, durable, and quiet performance over a long life. Protect sub-floors from moisture during construction. DryPly plywood is available with a water-repellent coating. Reducing water absorption during a normal four-week construction cycle can help avoid many of the problems that often result when sub-flooring is exposed to moisture. Plytanium Sturd-I-Floor sub-floor has delivered sturdier, more stable flooring systems for over three decades, and it is recommended by many flooring manufacturers and associations as a single-layer flooring system. Use it under wall-to-wall carpet and pad, hardwood flooring, and vinyl or ceramic tile.

Tips on Estimating Subflooring Costs from RSMeans

Wood in various forms and shapes is used in many projects, even where the main structural framing is steel, concrete or masonry. The estimator should ensure that the costs of all wood materials are included in the final estimate. Wood-framed projects are commonly sized in thousand board feet, or MBF. The board foot per linear foot of any stick of lumber can be calculated by dividing the nominal cross-sectional area by 12. Accessory connector items such as screws, nails, adhesives, hangers, connector plates, straps, angles, and hold-downs need to be considered as well.
