Plytanium® Sturd-I-Floor® (SIF) plywood sub floor is up to 10% stiffer than Oriented Strand Board (OSB) sub floor panels with equal joist spacing, providing added durability and stiffness. Its smooth, sanded surface allows for installation of floor coverings directly on the sub-floor with no additional underlayment. An added feature is the APA Quick-Fit Tongue & Groove design so panels fit together quickly and easily.
Blue Ribbon® oriented strand board (OSB) Sturd-I-Floor® is an engineered wood structural panel made of compressed wood strands arranged in three perpendicular layers and bonded with phenolic resin. The panels provide strength, racking and impact resistance, uniformity and superior fastener retention. These panels perform as both subfloor and underlayment and are suitable for direct application of carpet and pad.

Tips on Estimating Underlayment Costs from RSMeans
Wood in various forms and shapes is used in many projects, even where the main structural framing is steel, concrete or masonry. The estimator should ensure that the costs of all wood materials are included in the final estimate. Wood-framed projects are commonly sized in thousand board feet, or MBF. The board foot per linear foot of any stick of lumber can be calculated by dividing the nominal cross-sectional area by 12. Accessory connector items such as screws, nails, adhesives, hangers, connector plates, straps, angles, and hold-downs need to be considered as well. |
