Conveying Systems cover inter/intra-building transportation devices, such as elevators, handicap lifts, escalators, dumbwaiters, correspondence lifts, pneumatic tube systems, moving walkways and ramps, material handling systems, hoists and cranes, parcel lifts, and vertical conveyors.

Passenger Elevators

Electric elevators are the most common, but hydraulic elevators can also be used for lifts up to 70` and where large capacities are required. Hydraulic speeds are limited to 150 F.P.M., but cars are self-leveling at the stops....

Tips on Estimating Conveying Equipment Costs from RSMeans

When in doubt about price, what is standard on elevators, material selection, availability, etc., do not hesitate to call on any of the elevator manufacturing companies directly. The competition for your business can be fierce, and they will try to assist you in any way they can. Many products in Division 14 will require some type of support or blocking for installation not included with the item itself. Examples are supports for conveyors or tube systems, attachment points for lifts, and footings for hoists or cranes. Add these supports in the appropriate division.
