Facility lightning protection systems provide safety for the building and occupants by preventing damage to the structure caused by lightning.

When lightning strikes, the electrical current of the lightning bolt flows through the protection system components to reach ground rather than reaching the ground through parts of the building structure causing fire or other damage.
