Fan Coil Units Information

Fan Coil Units are air conditioning units consisting of centrifugal fans, coils, drain pans, filters and controls housed in a cabinet. They are designed to condition a space by circulating air over finned coils which contain a conditioning agent. Coils may be steam, water, electric or refrigerant. Fan Coil Units are used in both heating and cooling applications and are located in the space they are conditioning.

Fan Coil Units are very similar in design and use to Unit Ventilators. Fan Coil Units generally have lighter sheet metal cabinets, are designed to deliver smaller volumes of outside air and are available in small capacity sizes.

Typical applications would be hotels and motels, and offices.
