: Manually operated dampers shall not be placed in chimneys, vents or chimney or vent connectors of liquid or gas-burning appliances.
Automatically operated vent damper devices shall be listed and installed in accordance with the terms of the listing. Electrically operated vent damper devices shall be arranged to prevent firing of the burner unless the damper is opened to a safe position.
