Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning (23 00 00)

Setting HVAC units, running waste piping, and the many other functions of the mechanical contractor may involve the services of a multitude of other trades. For this reason, the full service mechanical contractor, much like the general contractor, may employ or subcontract for all of the individual mechanical trades, as well as temperature control specialists, balancing contractors, excavators, and even electricians.

Although there are thousands of full service mechanical contractors, this number is far out-weighed by the number of individual plumbing shops, HVAC firms, sprinkler contractors, and sheet metal contractors that accomplish the bulk of mechanical work. This division is designed to be used and understood by not only the total mechanical contractor, but also by the individual trades.

The trade divisions included in this division are:

    • Pipe and fittings
    • Pipe supports
    • Valves
    • Fixtures
    • Water heaters
    • Pumps
    • Heating systems
    • Air conditioning
    • Ventilation
    • Cable trays
    • Conduits
    • Ductwork
