Chillers are refrigeration devices which chill water, or a glycol solution, for use in hydronic based air conditioning systems. They are manufactured assemblies consisting of cabinets, evaporators (shell-and-tube heat exchangers), compressors, condensers, controls and accessories. The type of chiller is determined by the type of compressor used. Types of chillers include:
Absorption
Centrifugal
Ice making
Reciprocating
Rotary
Typical applications include arenas and ice rinks, food processing plants, chemical plants, manufacturing facilities, and chilled water cooling systems in hospitals, schools and office buildings.
