Product Description, Applications

Bovard Studio designs, engineers, restores and maintains custom stained glass framing systems, as well as custom stained glass and protective coverings, for all project sizes.

All Bovard Studio frames are engineered with a patented Bovard Precision Flow® venting system, which helps prevent heat build-up and condensation between the stained glass window and the insulated glass. The full line of aluminum frames includes:




1400 & 1403 SERIES FRAMES

  • Use for exterior protective glazing for stained glass windows or for a subframe to hold a stained glass lite or inner lite on the interior of an existing frame
  • L-shaped extruded aluminum frame with 1/16" (1.6 mm) minimum thickness, profiled for 1/4" (6 mm) single glazed exterior covering pane
  • Available with annealed glass; tempered glass; laminated glass; tempered laminated glass; heat strengthened laminated glass; acrylic plastic; polycarbonate plastic
  • 1400 Series - 1 3/16" (30 mm) visible frame width; 1403 Series - 1 7/16" (37 mm)
  • 1400 Series - 1 7/16" (37 mm) frame depth; 1403 Series - 1 9/16" (40 mm)
  • Non-thermally broken
  • Tubular T profile extruded aluminum mullion with double snap-in glass stops and flush design
  • Includes Bovard Precision Flow ventilation



1850 SERIES HURRICANE-APPROVED FRAMES

  • Use for glazing for stained glass windows that require certified hurricane protection
  • L-shaped extruded aluminum frame with 1/16" (1.6 mm) minimum thickness and 3/16" (4.8 mm) aluminum angle reinforcing bar, profiled for 3/8" (10 mm) single glazed exterior covering pane
  • Available with hurricane-approved 3/8" Lexan XL-10 or hurricane-approved 7/16" heat-strengthened laminated glass, consisting of two layers of 3/16" glass, laminated with .090 DuPont Sentry Glass Plus
  • 2 1/4" (57 mm) visible frame width
  • 2" (51 mm) frame depth
  • Solid steel bar mullion with double snap-in glass stops and flush design
  • Includes Bovard Precision Flow ventilation



3500 & 3503 SERIES FRAMES

  • Use for three pane glazed assemblies with stained glass panes or exterior protective glazing for double pane insulated or single pane configurations
  • Flat solid shape extruded aluminum frame with 1/8" (3.2 mm) minimum thickness
  • When profiled for 1/4" - 1/2" (6 - 12 mm) exterior protective glazing, the 3500/3503 Series is offered with annealed glass, tempered glass, laminated glass, tempered laminated glass, heat strengthened laminated glass, acrylic plastic or polycarbonate plastic; when profiled for 3/4" (19 mm) insulated double panes, the 3500/3503 Series is available with annealed glass, tempered glass, laminated glass, tempered laminated glass, heat strengthened laminated glass
  • Thermally broken
  • Flush snap-in glazing stops on each side
  • Stained glass interior light
  • 3500 Series - 1 1/2" (38 mm) visible frame width; 3503 Series - 5/16" (8 mm) visible frame width
  • 3500 Series - 3 1/2" (89 mm) frame depth; 3503 Series - 3 1/2" (89 mm) frame depth

3750 SERIES FRAMES

  • Flat solid shape extruded aluminum frame with 1/8" (3.2 mm) minimum thickness
  • When profiled for 1/4" - 1/2" (6 - 12 mm) individual protective glazed panes, the 3750 Series is offered with annealed glass, tempered glass, laminated glass, tempered laminated glass, heat strengthened laminated glass, acrylic plastic or polycarbonate plastic; when profiled for 3/4" (19 mm) insulated double panes, the 3750 Series is offered with annealed glass, tempered glass, laminated glass, tempered laminated glass, heat strengthened laminated glass
  • Thermally broken
  • Flush snap-in glazing stops on each side
  • Stained glass interior light
  • 1 3/4" (44 mm) visible frame width
  • 3 3/4" (95 mm) frame depth

4000 SERIES FRAMES

  • Use for three pane glazed assemblies with stained glass panes and exterior protective glazing for double pane insulated or single pane configurations
  • Flat solid shape extruded aluminum frame with 1/8" (3.2 mm) minimum thickness
  • When profiled for 1/4" - 3/4" (6 - 19 mm) individual protective glazed panes, the 4000 Series is offered with annealed glass, tempered glass, laminated glass, tempered laminated glass, heat strengthened laminated glass, acrylic plastic or polycarbonate plastic; when profiled for 1" (25 mm) insulated double panes, the 4000 Series is offered with annealed glass, tempered glass, laminated glass, tempered laminated glass, heat strengthened laminated glass
  • Thermally broken

  • 1 3/4" (44 mm) visible frame width
  • 4" (102 mm) frame depth
