Product Description, Applications

Elemix® additive is a new, lightweight synthetic particle (LSP) that contains polymeric spheres specially formulated for use in concrete. With a closed cell inner structure that contains air and a maximum of 5.5% water absorption by weight, Elemix additive allows the creation of lighter weight, durable, energy-efficient concrete with improved performance and enhanced thermal and crack resistance properties.

Available in Type XE (white) and Grey XE (grey), Elemix additive meets applicable compressive strength, flexural strength, consistency, freeze-thaw resistance and scaling-deicing requirements for many commercial concrete applications, including:

• Structural and non-structural concrete
• Ready-mix in grouts and fills
• Poured-in-place concrete
• Elevated decks and toppings
• Manufactured concrete products
• Precast components

Added during the concrete batching process, Elemix additive distributes uniformly in concrete with regular mixing due to its dynamic structure and dispersion characteristics, becoming an integral part of the concrete matrix. It is placed and finished using traditional methods, and because of its lightweight properties, allows builders to consume less material overall, resulting in reduced construction costs.
