Glen Gery Brick

Product Overview

Product Overview

Glen-Gery began making brick in 1850 and today offers over 300 products, with a full range of colors, textures, styles and sizes to meet commercial and residential needs. Glen-Gery bricks are manufactured to meet ASTM C216 or ASTM C652 standards, and many clay bricks incorporate recycled content by way of reclaimed process waste and reclaimed materials.

Extruded Brick
Glen-Gery extruded brick is characterized by crisp, angular edges and core holes that lighten the brick and assist drying during manufacturing. Extruded brick can have varying textures, including smooth or heavy sand, velour (wirecut), rolled edges and glazes. It is available in a selection of shades, textures and sizes. The typical thickness is 3 5/8"; heights are 2 1/4", 2 3/4", 3 5/8", and lengths are 7 5/8", 8", 9 5/8" or 11 5/8". Special order custom sizes are available.

Rolled Edge Brick
Rolled Edge brick is four inch rolled edge brick, manufactured with the same process used for extruded brick. An economical alternative to machine molded or handmade brick, Rolled Edge brick has a soft and slightly undefined appearance.

Molded Brick
Glen-Gery Molded brick typically has soft, irregular edges and sand finish texture. Manufactured using sand as a lubricant to release the clay from the molds, details for this type of brick include an irregular surface, natural colors and sand finish textures suitable for any building type and architectural style.

Handmade Brick
Glen-Gery handmade brick is individually formed, and then placed in a wooden mold to create a unique and textured brick. The resulting brick is noted for its irregular form and texture, including folds on the face of the unit. Manufactured to ASTM C216 standards, Grade SW, Type FBA, Glen-Gery handmade brick is available in two standard sizes: handmade oversize (4 x 23/4 x 8 1/2) and standard modular (3 5/8 x 2 1/4 x 7 5/8); custom sizes are also available.

Papercut Brick
Glen-Gery papercut brick has a wirecut, sand finish, created by placing a sheet of kraft paper on top of an extruded column of material before cutting in individual units. The papercut brick has an irregular edge and is available in a selection of standard and custom sizes.

Tumbled Brick
Glen-Gery tumbled brick has a used brick appearance, with a diverse textured pattern. It is offered in a smooth or velour texture that has been distressed to create a particular appearance

Glazed Brick
Glen-Gery glazed brick, typically reserved for commercial construction, includes an integral glaze that becomes a part of the unit during the firing process. The resulting brick is impervious to both liquids and gasses. Glazed brick and glazed brick shapes are made specifically for each project.

Thin Brick
Glen-Gery Thin Brick is a veneer that has a conventional brick masonry wall appearance, but weighs considerably less. Popular for redecorating or renovating existing walls, thin brick is available in 1/2" x 2 1/4" x 7 5/8" and 1/2" x 2 3/4" x 7 5/8" stretcher units, corner units or 3-sided corner units.
