ProRoc Gypsum Board & GlasRoc Tile Backer

CertainTeed Gypsum, Inc., manufactures a variety of ProRoc® Gypsum Board products and GlasRoc® Tile Backer for commercial, industrial, institutional and residential applications. ProRoc and GlasRoc products conform to accepted testing standards, as well as to a variety of design and code requirements.

Product Description, Applications, Features

ProRoc® Gypsum Board products offer consistent high quality and high edge hardness, providing a uniformly flat, attractive appearance with no shadows, wavy edges, warps, bows or deformities. With uniform high-strength cores that eliminate crumbling and cracking, they can be scored and snapped to exact size without cutting or sawing, while tapered or tapered/rounded edges form consistent, perfect joints. Products conform to accepted testing standards, as well as to a variety of design and code requirements.

PROROC® TYPE X
Designed for use in fire-rated interior walls and ceilings, as well as in building project applications with veneer plaster base or requiring resistance to moisture and/or abuse, ProRoc® Type X Gypsum Board products consist of a specially formulated Type X gypsum core enclosed in facing and backing paper.

• Product line offered in 6 sub-types (ProRoc Type X, ProRoc Type X with M2Tech, ProRoc Moisture Resistant Type X, ProRoc Abuse Resistant Type X, ProRoc Veneer Plaster Base Type X and ProRoc Evenwall Type X) to meet a variety of specialty application requirements

PROROC® TYPE C
ProRoc® Type C Gypsum Board products are designed for use in fire-rated interior wall and ceiling applications. They consist of specially formulated, enhanced Type X cores enclosed in ivory-colored paper on the face and strong liner paper on the back.

• Available in thicknesses of 1/2" and 5/8" (12.7 and 15.9 mm)
• Provided in lengths from 8' - 12' (2.4 - 3.7 m) and in standard width of 4' (1.2 m); custom lengths are available
• UL/ULC Classified for fire resistance in 1, 2, 3 and 4 hour rated fire resistance assemblies

PROROC® REGULAR
Designed for interior walls and ceilings in standard residential or commercial applications, ProRoc Regular Gypsum Board products are available in a variety of sub-types for projects requiring moisture resistance, high flex and/or veneer plaster base. ProRoc products consist of a solid set gypsum core enclosed in facing and backing paper.

• Product line offered in 7 sub-types (ProRoc Regular, ProRoc with M2Tech, ProRoc Evenwall, ProRoc Moisture Resistant, ProRoc Interior Ceiling, ProRoc 1/4" FLEX, ProRoc Veneer Plaster Base) to meet a variety of specialty application requirements
• Available in thicknesses of 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" (6.4, 9.5 and 12.7 mm)
• Provided in lengths from 8' - 16' (2.4 - 4.8 m) according to product, and in standard width of 4' (1.2 m); additional widths and custom lengths are available

PROROC® MOISTURE AND MOLD RESISTANT GYPSUM BOARD WITH M2TECH™
ProRoc® Moisture and Mold Resistant Gypsum Board with M2Tech™ is specially engineered to provide enhanced moisture and mold resistance in a regular gypsum board product. It is used for interior wall and ceiling applications in humid areas such as laundry rooms, basements, bathrooms, backsplash areas or anywhere extra moisture and mold protection is desired. Product consists of a moisture-resistant core enclosed in light, violet colored facing paper and a bronze colored backing paper.

• Available in thickness of 1/2" (12.7 mm)
• Provided in lengths of 8', 10' and 12' (2.4, 3.1 and 3.7 m) and in standard width of 4' (1.2 m); custom lengths are available

PROROC® MOISTURE AND MOLD RESISTANT TYPE X GYPSUM BOARD WITH M2TECH™
ProRoc® Moisture and Mold Resistant Type X Gypsum Board with M2Tech™ is specially engineered to provide enhanced moisture and mold resistance in a Type X fire-rated gypsum board product. It is used in humid areas, such as laundry rooms, basements, bathrooms, backsplash areas, or anywhere extra moisture and mold protection is desired in fire-resistance rated residential, commercial and institutional applications. Products consist of a moisture-resistant core enclosed in light violet-colored facing paper and bronze-colored backing paper.

GLASROC® TILE BACKER
GlasRoc® Tile Backer is an appropriate substrate for walls, ceilings and countertops in wet and non-wet applications and in areas of high-humidity. Well suited for both tile and non-tile installations, this paperless, polymer-modified panel consists of a water resistant gypsum core with embedded fiberglass mats. It resists delamination, deterioration, warping and jobsite damage, and provides reduced surface alkalinity when compared to cement board tile backers. The face is coated with a moisture-blocking textured acrylic that inhibits water vapor permeance. Tile Backer is lightweight, easy to handle and install and can be easily cut using a utility knife.

• Offered in thickness of 1/2" or 5/8" (12.7 and 15.9 mm), with standard length of 8' (2.4 m) and width of 4' (1.2 m)
• Limited lifetime warranty for residential applications; 20-year limited warranty for commercial applications
• Noncombustible, with excellent fire resistance properties and numerous fire rated assemblies
