Roof board insulation is a thermal insulating rigid panel attached to the roof decking and serves as a substrate for roofing membranes.
Roof board insulation diminishes temperature variations in the roof deck and consequently the expansion and contraction of the deck. Typical board types include polyiso, expanded polystyrene, extruded polystyrene, perlite and lightweight insulating concrete.
