Vapor retarders prevent moisture-related problems by wrapping and enveloping your building with an impermeable material. Also referred to as vapor barriers, vapor retarders can prevent wood decay and mold and mildew growth on walls and roofs due to moisture diffusion through building materials.
Vapor retarders typically take the form of a plastic film, foil-faced, or treated paper. Vapor retarders are also available as painted coatings as well.
